Contemporary Organic Villa on the Mediterranean, artisan job on all features, concrete, cement, clay, iron…
A mid Century villa with many add ons grown over by time, weather, debris and neglect. The Villa was stripped down to its skeleton ,exposed, discovering its original self. Upon this frame VLZ was reborn. The main feature is a central concrete staircase designed as an organic sculpture it connects the spaces with a stern and powerful look but light feeling at the same time. The areas made up of manually polished cement floors give out different shades of lead grey. Other areas are made with thick clay bricks over 200 years old recovered from old Valencian Villas layed in fish spine design later polished and waxed leaving a flat continuous look . Showers, Bathrooms, all Rooms have been designed individually to offer different layouts so not one room is favoured over another. All areas look over the sparkling blue Mediterranean. Gardens are filled with avocado trees, fruit trees, lawn and greenery. Infinity black cement and stone pool surrounded by old paving give the feel of swimming in a private lake.
